Forgotten Soldier From Vietman

Walking down the street everyone passes him by
They look down at his feet cause they can’t look him in the eye
Tattered jeans and worn out shoes
They have nothing much to say
They don’t know it was Vietman that left him this away

He’s a forgotten soldier not much good to anyone
No one seems to care
That he was once somebody’s son
Forgotten soldier
There are thousands to his one
Nothing much to eat
Sleeping on the street when the day is done
Forgotten soldier from Vietnam

He had plans to live a full life, he Was almost 21
Just taken Susie as his wife, in 1971
But then his country called, and said it was time to fight
So he walked away from his hopes and dreams
To do what he thought was right
But when he returned he was laughed at and spit upon
A broken man with a broken country , a broken heart with a broken home
The nightmares still haunts him, and sometimes he just can’t sleep
So he wanders like a long lost soul down a dead end street

He’s a forgotten soldier not much good to anyone
No one seems to care
That he was once somebody’s son
Forgotten soldier
There are thousands to his one
Nothing much to eat
Sleeping on the street when the day is done
Forgotten soldier from Vietnam
